“Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.” —Matthew 2:2
Matthew 2 recounts the story of the Wise Men, who came to Bethlehem to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. They traveled a long distance, relying on the light of the new star to guide them to Him.
Our journey is similar. We may not have a literal star to follow, but we can find Jesus Christ’s light in the kindness and goodness we see all around us.
His light is everywhere. It’s there in the stranger who gives you a kind smile, in the friend who checks in when you’re having a bad day. It’s there in the beauty of the natural world and the peace you feel when you read His words in the scriptures.
The light of Jesus Christ is always shining on us. We just have to look for it. This Christmas, look out for His light in your life—and see where it can guide you.
