The Area Presidency have announced a Strengthening of safeguarding policies in the UK and Channel Islands to support us in ministering to our young or vulnerable adults.
The stake presidency is pleased that we have this opportunity to improve our safeguarding which will include the church providing access to disclosure and barring service checks for all who serve with young people and vulnerable adults from now on.
DBS checking will be conducted on a staged basis between 1 July and 31 December 2023 for those already serving, and those currently serving can continue to do so while these DBS checks are
undertaken.
Each unit will be given information on when those checks will be available over the next 6 months.
