Sister Margaret Ricketts from Poole Ward was on a walk with her dog recently when she saw outside a house that she passed lots of lovely condition teddies for people to take.
Margaret told a few people about it, but they were not interested, so later on that day she took a black bin liner and filled it with the teddies and also wrote a note on the back of a picture of the Saviour with two children explaining that she was going to take the teddies to a friend who knew a charity that did regular trips to Ukraine and that the teddies would go to the children in hospitals there. Margaret put her name and contact number on the note too.
A little while later the gentleman who had put the teddies out called Margaret and she was told that he had more if she would like to go and collect them.
When Margaret went round the next day the man explained that all the teddies were his daughters who had been tragically killed in a car accident and he was only now able to have the strength to sort out her stuff.
Margaret spoke to him about her faith and bore her testimony to the grieving father and they had a lovely conversation.
All the teddies are being donated to children in Ukraine.
Missionary work can be done in so many ways.
