The Resurrection of Jesus Christ

Early in the morning, Mary Magdalene, a friend and follower of Jesus Christ, came to the tomb to care for His body. To her astonishment, she found the tomb empty. Later as she wept outside the tomb, a man addressed her—the gardener, she supposed. But then He said her name, “Mary.” And she saw. It was Jesus Christ alive again. The knowledge was too wonderful to contain. Her faith propelled her into a joyous sprint as she ran to tell the others.

It’s a testimony that still propels people today. You can know, just as Mary Magdalene did, that Jesus Christ lives. Because of Him, everyone will live again. If we follow Christ, we can find true happiness on earth and look forward to eternal joy in the life to come.

About Christ’s Resurrection, President Dallin H. Oaks taught:

The Resurrection gives us the perspective and the strength to endure the mortal challenges faced by each of us and those we love. It gives us a new way to view the physical, mental, or emotional deficiencies we have at birth or acquire during mortal life. It gives us the strength to endure sorrows, failures, and frustrations. Because each of us has an assured resurrection, we know that these mortal deficiencies and oppositions are only temporary. (“What Has Our Savior Done for Us?,” Liahona, May 2021)
